A 40-year-old male was admitted to a medical college hospital with a history of high-grade fever for the last 7 days. He also presented with severe body ache, joint pain, retro-orbital pain, and gastrointestinal symptoms. On examination, the patient was febrile (102°F) with rashes on his face, neck, and chest. Purpuric spots were seen on the palate and oral mucosa.

  • i) What is the most probable diagnosis of the case and why? 3 MARKS

  • ii) How will you manage this case? 4 MARKS

  • iii) What preventive and control measures will you take at the family and community level to control the situation? 8 MARKS
