A 50-year-old lady visited a doctor for pain and swelling in the upper medial side of her left thigh. Radiological and physical examination revealed herniation of abdominal viscera below the inguinal ligament in the femoral triangle, below and lateral to the pubic tubercle.
i) Why is femoral hernia common in females? (3 marks)
ii) Mention the compartments of the femoral sheath with its contents. (3 marks)
iii) Enumerate the coverings of a femoral hernia and mention the course for reduction of it. (4 marks)
